On Saturday May 15, 2010, Officers from the Jonesboro Police Department participated in an eight hour training session conducted by Deputy Toby Holliday of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. The training was conducted in one of the local abandoned houses and the old J.C. Knight School. This training was in the subjects of: Building Searches, Room Clearing, High Risk Warrant Service and Active Shooter.
Deputy Holliday is a supervisor at the Wishard Hospital Police Department and is Reserve Deputy with Marion County Sheriff’s Department. He is currently attached to Marion County Sheriff’s Department’s elite warrant squad. He is a former Greenfield Police Sergeant where he was their SWAT entry Team Leader and full-time K-9 Officer. Deputy Holliday is an ILEA instructor in the following areas:
· Basic Swat
· Pistol/Shotgun/Patrol Rifle
· Defensive Tactics
· Active Shooter
· Less Lethal Munitions (bean bag, pepper ball, flash-bangs, and other various grenade launched applications)
· Taser
· K-9
The participating Jonesboro Police Officers would like to thank Deputy Holliday for donating his time to conduct this training. Every Officer learned valuable new skills that will allow them to better serve the citizens of Jonesboro.
